USA & UK. Nordic Tugs trawler yacht to make European debut at Southampton Boat Show
Nordic Tugs (R), US-based manufacturer of tug-style trawler yachts, is set to make its European debut at the Southampton Boat Show, Southampton, United Kingdom (UK), September 14-23, Stand J250. Nordic Tugs will display the Nordic Tug 37, the company’s first European Union CE certified boat.
Unlike the majority of competitive trawler-style yachts, the Nordic Tug 37 features a semi-displacement hull that is fast, yet fuel efficient, and provides a quiet, comfortable ride. Nordic Tugs’ semi-displacement hull handles rough waters with ease, making them the ideal vessel for navigating the challenging European coastal waters. Powered by a single 283 kW (380 hp) Cummins diesel engine, the Nordic Tug 37 offers the fuel economy of a displacement hull, yet can comfortably cruise into the high teens, providing speeds far greater than a displacement hull can achieve.
The Nordic Tug 37 is available in two configurations, a double cabin layout or the convertible layout, which features a main berth and allows the customer to configure the port midship area into either a laundry room, office or navigation station.
Known for its spacious and functional layout, the Nordic Tug 37 double cabin and convertible configurations both feature:
a forward queen berth with storage under plus port and starboard hanging lockers;
a spacious salon with a 6-foot convertible settee, teak table and optional teak and holly floor; a galley that features large CORIAN® countertops with a CORIAN® sink, roomy A/C-D/C refrigerator and freezer and plenty of hand-crafted teak cupboards to store sufficient provisions for extended cruising.
The ship-style helm, complete with teak finish, provides 360 degree views and room for all the latest electronics. Twin pilothouse seats offer passenger seating for four, with storage underneath. A fly bridge option is available.
Every Nordic Tug is put through thorough quality assurance checks throughout the manufacturing process, and every boat is taken through a full day sea trial to ensure a quality finished product is delivered to each customer.
Nordic Tugs are backed by an exclusive Gold Standard Warranty, which provides stem-to-stern coverage for one year and warrants the hull for 10 years against both structural failure and osmotic blistering.
Nordic Tugs recently signed its first European dealer, Nordic Tugs UK, Ltd. They are scheduled to take delivery of the Nordic Tug 37 in August and have three additional boats on order – a 32, 42 and the new 47-foot model, which will debut in the United States in the summer of 2008. The first CE certified Nordic Tug 47 will be delivered to Europe in 2009. A 52-foot model is also available.
